Weekend Docket: 9/7/12

What's wrong with me that I'd schedule another day of work on my ONE day off during the week? Granted... that "day of work" consists of hanging out with my awesome Living Socialites, meeting new people, most likely falling off a Stand Up Paddleboard and drinking incredible margaritas at the Hotel Maya in Long Beach. What? You want to do this too? There's still time to buy the Stand Up Paddleboarding & Margarita's Living Social Adventure, just saying.

The annual LA Greek Fest is a celebration of Greek food, dance and fun in the heart of the Byzantine Latino Quarter in Los Angeles, California. The LA Greek Fest returns to Saint Sophia Cathedral. Dance the day and night away as you grub on gyros, mousesaka, dolmathes and baklava. Plus, there is a pretty good chance you’ll run into Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. The Original Long Beach Lobster Festival

Combines local popular artists, Swing, Salsa, R&B/Motown, 70s/80s Dance Bands, Fresh Live Maine Lobsters steamed in the World's Largest Cooker for that mouth watering taste, food court, children's area, dance floor, two stages and bars to create the largest Lobster Festival outside of Maine. Dapper Day at Disneyland

Visit Disneyland in style at this unofficial dress-up day that happens twice a year. Not sure what to pull from the closet? Elegant fashions from the Mad Men era to the latest haute couture are encouraged. Twice a year Dapper Day organizes fashionable outings to The Disney Resorts in LA, Orlando, and Paris: a spring, all-day event, and a fall "evening affair." Inspired by the original Disney Park designer's illustrations, which often featured extremely well dressed guests enjoying the park, Dapper Day events celebrate the tradition of stepping out in style. A Taste of Koreatown

What was previously known as the Korean BBQ Cook-Off has been transformed into A Taste of Koreatown to better serve the entire community that is K-town. Embracing all cultures in this diverse area, the food festival will feature eats from places like BCD Tofu House, El Cholo, Palsaik Samgyupsal, Park’s BBQ, Seoul Sausage Company, and even good ol’ Papa Cristos. Obviously, there will be a beer garden featuring Firestone craft beers, soju cocktails, Kooksoondang makali (unfiltered soju), bokbunja (Korean red wine) plus non-alcoholic drinks. KCRW Good Food Pie Contest

Good Food's own Evan Kleiman will preside over the afternoon pie festivities which will include music provided by KCRW DJ Anne Litt, pie tasting, and much more! Patina will offer food and beverages for sale on the half moon terrace adjacent to the pie contest from 11:30am to 4pm. Come spend the day at LACMA and grab some picnic fare before or after you taste the pies!
