Weekend Docket: 2/10/12

If there is just ONE THING you do this weekend... it should be going to see THE VOW.  Seriously. Go. Just do it. You'll be happy you did.  Or, more likely you'll make your date really happy you did.  With Valentine's Day right around the corner, just trust me that it's worth it.

As some of you guys know I'll be starting a new gig in a little bit, so I'm giving you the fair warning now... I have every intention of continuing these weekend dockets but please, bear with me, they might be slightly more infrequent depending on my life at the moment.  You can always tweet me @nicolemiizuka if you're looking for suggestions.  Remember that.  I'll still be here for you.

That said, this weekend is chock full o guns!  Tonight I'll be bringing out the whiskey guns for the lovely B's birthday, making sure she gets nice and toasty.  Tomorrow?  Why, bring on the shotguns!  Remember that best part time job ever that I have?  Living Social Adventures?  Well this is why it's awesome.  I'll be shooting shotguns for a full day & then following that up with... what was that? More whiskey guns?

Sunday I'll be heading over to the LAX firing range to finish off the weekend with some handgun action.  That's assuming I survive the shotgun adventure.

Considering I'm not including any Valentine's Day plans in the docket (because really guys, if you haven't planned something by now, shame on you.) I wanted to give you guys a link to one of my all time favorite bloggers: Caroline on Crack 's10 Ways To Celebrate Anti-Valentine’s Day in LA!

What about you guys?  I want to hear all about your weekend plans too! Leave em in the comments below :).  And as always... if you want to connect, you can follow me on twitter @nicolemiizuka or find me on Facebook!

Living Social: Triple B Shotguns!
on sale today
Here's the thing. Working for Living Social obviously has it's benefits, but if I could pinpoint the one major change it's brought about to my life... it'd be my new infatuation with shotguns. I've never felt quite so powerful as that first time Duck Hunt became more than just a game. If you'd like to capture a little bit of that then here's a deal just for you. Triple B Clays has a deal that's well worth it's price tag, $109 for two or $199 for four. Clay target-shooting packages with an instructor, two boxes of shells, up to 65 targets, ear plugs, gun rentals, vests and even a golf cart! For those of you who missed the awesome LS Adventures "Shooting & Drinking" deal, here's your chance to create an adventure of your own! (Granted I still advise doing the drinking AFTER the shooting) Anyway. Check it out. You'll be happy you did.

Orson Wells Double Feature @ The Egyptian Theater
Having finally checked out the Egyptian theater last week for a screening of Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke, I can absolutely say that seeing a flick here is a must do on any LA list. And what could be better than a doubleheader featuring Citizen Kane and The Magnificent Ambersons? Citizen Kane - Orson Welles was only 25 when he directed this masterpiece, and it remains one of the most phenomenal motion pictures ever made. Welles, of course, also stars as Charles Foster Kane, a ruthless man who built a newspaper publishing empire and a character supposedly modeled after the real-life William Randolph Hearst. The magnificent Ambersons - Director Orson Welles' poetic, tragic adaptation of Booth Tarkington's novel, centering on the fall of one wealthy family, with Stanley Cortez's dynamic camerawork providing a panorama of turn-of-the-century America and the decay of the old aristocracy. The Egyptian Theater 6712 Hollywood Boulevard Hollywood, CA 90028
