Barely recovering from the amazing Wild Game dinner last night at Whist with hottie Chef Chris Crary (vote for him as Fan Favorite!) and Jo of MyLastBite I think I'm going to lay low tonight... hitting up Jeff Goldsmith's HAYWIRE Q&A screening and then going to bed early so I'll be nice and refreshed for a fun weekend of Oceanside Rooftop Yoga, Oysters + Caviar!
Plus it's my best friend's birthday :). HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYRA! So we'll be doing a little whiskey tasting + ice skating Saturday night... good god my life is turning into one big living social adventure.

It's the First First Fridays of 2012 tonight, and I'd normally not mention the monthly gathering, but there's a new kid on the block that's worth checking out... Brian Dunsmoor and Kris Tominaga's pop-up eatery Wolf in Sheep's Clothing is still serving in their Capri outpost on Abbot Kinney, and if you're lucky enough to snag a seat, this is the perfect way to kick off the new year. Plus the normal smattering of awesome art, boutiques and food trucks will still be on hand should you have to wait. Plus, if you're lucky Cirque de Soleil will be doing ticket give-a-ways for their Iris show (if you win a pair, take me!) Abbot Kinney, Venice http://www.abbotkinney1stfridays.com/
"How could you have never seen The Goonies?! What kind of film student are you..." was a question that constantly plagued me in my early Tisch years, so I never got any of those Truffle Shuffle jokes. What a sad life, right? So now, having FINALLY caught up to what I should have watched back in 5th Grade, I'm sort of excited to see that American Cinematheque is doing a double feature tonight at the awe-inspiring Egyptian. So if you're not going to Jeff Goldsmith's HAYWIRE Q&A tonight, this should be your Friday night movie choice. Plus afterwards you can certainly whet your whistle at Spitz Downtown that has a new (and tasty) bar!! $15 Members, $20 non-members, includes admission. Join David Cross in person for a special presentation of what’s possibly his most warped creation ever! Created, written by, and starring Cross (“Arrested Development”, “Mr. Show”), IFC’s “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” follows the awkward misadventures of an American office temp/convenient liar who bluffs his way into a senior sales position heading up the London office for the new energy drink/toxic poison Thunder Muscle. Aided in his imbecilic gaffes and misfortunes by his mysteriously devious and sometimes useless assistant (Blake Harrison of “The Inbetweeners”), Todd inadvertently wrecks havoc on the entire city of London, to devastatingly hilarious results. Co-starring Will Arnett, Janeane Garofalo, Amber Tamblyn and Russ Tamblyn. Come watch a special feature-length edition of Season One with us, followed by a Q&A with David Cross — and catch Season Two on IFC, Fridays at 10:30pm starting January 6th! Tickets are $10 for non-members. Silent Movie Theatre 611 N. Fairfax Avenue - Los Angeles, CA www.cinefamily.org
