Weekend Docket: 8/26/11

With the (unrealized) threat of Sunset Junction looming over this weekend, there isn't really all that much else going on. But in lieu of a fun fueled weekend of hipsters, here's what's going on.

As for me, I'm hitting up Matt Portman & Tatenda Mbudzi's Comedy Extravaganza at the Complex tonight, wishing the always hilarious MadameHorchata a happy birthday with a beach-side toast, saying goodbye to the lovely JanestaKim who's leaving us for the big apple, and excitedly awaiting the premiere of the new Venture Brothers!

Craft for Crap at Beer Belly
3pm - 10pm
Craft beer needs your help. Chances are you still have that one friend who doesn"t drink craft beer. You know...the one who brings the watered down stuff to parties and calls you names because you"re still enjoying your first beer when he/she is on their third. Grab that friend of yours and join us at Beer Belly because on August 28th, we"ll be holding our first Craft for Crap event. Raid your friend"s fridge and bring in whatever crap beer they have on hand, and in exchange one of our beertenders will hand you or your friend a fine brew (for $0.01) from our friends at Cismontane. Simple, right? While you may bring in as much crap beer as you want, imbibers are limited to one 1-penny beer. Beer Belly, 532 S. Western Ave., Koreatown
