Weekend Docket: 3/11/11

Taking it a little easy this weekend... working on a few recipe ideas, hanging out with bartender brandon at Jaragua, and shopping it up at the pasadena flea market seems like an easy load after a long week.  Maybe I'll check out some of the events below, especially like the new Frysmith outpost.  Nom.

Friday, 3/11
Starbucks 40th Anniversary
march 10th - march 12th || 2pm - 5pm

Frysmith @ Loaded
4pm - Midnight
Frysmith's grand opening this Friday, March 8 in Loaded. To celebrate, all fries will be $2 off. They'll be serving a full menu out of the bar's kitchen seven days a week from 4-11pm and later on the weekend. You can eat in or carry out. On top of that, they're introducing new "loaded" versions of their fries that will only be available at the bar. The chili gets bacon and sour cream like the good ole Breaker. St. Patrick's Day Festival
2pm - 6pm
A Beer, Wine and Spirits festival in the heart of Hollywood at Sunset and vine. Featuring Beers, Wines, and Spirits from all around the world paired with cheeses, sausages and other great foods. Great entertainment including Irish Dancers, LAPD Emeralds marching band, Live karaoke band, 80's bands and more. Museum of Neon Art
opening reception at 8pm
MONA@30 celebrates the Museum of Neon Art's first 30 years with a wide range of neon and kinetic art from the last 30 years including more than 30 artists!  The opening reception will feature DJ Neon Hunter, wine, cheese and special guest performances. Tickets are the price of museum admission ($7) or FREE for MONA members. Big Sundae

A fundraiser for Big Sunday an organization that builds community through community service. Their volunteers come from all kinds of neighborhoods, and work in all sorts of neighborhoods, too. The idea is that everyone has some way that they can help somebody else. There will be lots of people, lots of food and lots going on for the whole family. They’ll have fantastic make-your-own-sundaes, delicious wine and cheese, music, arts & crafts, entertainers, community service projects, great auction items and much more. Closed on Mondays is a roving dinner party that takes advantage of the restaurant industry's day of rest. Chef Diego Hernandez Pop-Up @ Pal Cabron

Pal Cabron, recently home to Joseph Mahon & David Haskell's Magnum pop-up is doing it again.  This time with Baja California Chef Diego Hernandez of La Villa del Valle Country Retreat who is taking over the stint for three nights.
