I do realize that these posts are a long time coming... I'm just playing a little catch up on my backlog of posts!
I feel like I could still tweak this recipe a bit, bacon isn't really all that hawaiian in flavor, but here goes...
Hawaiian French Toast Boozy Brunch Style
6-8 slices of Hawaiian Sweet Bread
4-5 eggs
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 package of bacon
1/4 cup honey whiskey
pineapple chunks & powdered sugar to garnish!
Start with a hot skillet & start frying up your bacon. Be sure to save all the bacon fat leftovers in the pan... While the bacon is frying, crack your eggs into another bowl & whip them into a frenzy. Slowly pour in your pineapple juice & whiskey into the egg mixture.
Garnish with a few slices of cooked bacon, pineapple chunks and a hint of powdered sugar & serve hot.
This certainly isn't a breakfast for the health conscious or those trying to keep to their new years resolutions, but for the gluttonous masses, it's heaven on a plate. I do think the next time I made this however, I have to work in some Portuguese sausages or Spam for more authentic flavors.
Would also go great with some Li Hing Mui Cocktails :-)
