Cart For A Cause: Ray Garcia Edition

Chef Ray Garcia has been a hero of mine for quite some time.  His love of deliciously unhealthy yet fetish satisfying meats has elevated the whole bacon phenomenon to the next level by offering a selection of bacon wrapped bacon, and my favorite, bacon waffles with bacon syrup and bacon ice cream.  WHAT?! Yes.

Plus getting to meet him at the Beverly Hills Food & Wine Festival, truly sealed the deal.

So when my foodie friend, Mr. Catatouille told me that he was cooking in the Cart For A Cause truck, AND that it would be parked within spitting distance of work, it was a no brainier as to where to lunch on Tuesday...

Dragging my co-workers out for a little truck hunting adventure, we easily spotted the Cart.  I could see Chef Garcia hard at work inside the truck & the little crowd that was gathered waited anxiously for their food.  Considering Chef Garcia is a master with fatty meat products, Pancetta & Shortrib Meatloaf Sandwich seemed like the obvious choice.

Surprisingly for a mere $10, the sum of which could feed a senior citizen for a day (as quoted on the side of the truck) we were given a feast!  In addition to the sandwich,  there was a lovely quinoa salad with sweet potato & granny smith apple, a bag o' Wonderful Pistachios, a selection of POM beverages including their new coffee line & Miss Lilly's cookies in case the Fig Bar for dessert wasn't enough.

It was a wee bit cold however, so we grabbed our Lexus recycled plastic goodie bags stuffed with yummy noms and headed back to the office where we could chow down.

Plus, we could feel good about giving back a little, considering the cart was raising money for Meals on Wheels, an amazing charity!

If you'd like to find out where the truck's headed next, you can follow them on twitter @cartforacause. If I'm reading correctly... it looks like Chef Garcia's coming back for a round 2 on Jan 18th!

  1. Sometimes all you need is the right colorway on a shoe to see it in a completely different light. Take for example the Under Armour Curry Three. KD Trey 5 Up to this point, I had yet to see a colorway or version of the shoe that completely blew me away. Today I came across the color scheme you see kevin durant shoes above, and for the first time ever, I’ve found a colorway on a Curry that I can see myself messing with. This brand new colorway has the Curry Three dressed in Kyrie 2 a Burgundy upper accented nicely by the Metallic Gold noted on the two-toned laces, branding and eyelets. That Burgundy and Gold combination looks amazing on the shoe’s upper! Giving the LeBron 10 shoe even more of a cleaner look is the White midsole and translucent rubber outsole placed below. No word yet on when these will release, but stay tuned to find Curry Shoes out.
The Nike KD Trey 5 IV just dropped in a handful of brand new team-inspired colorways. With plenty of options to choose from, let’s get a closer look at KD 6 all the options you have to choose from.If you’re not familiar with the Nike KD Trey 5 IV, it’s basically an alternative (and more affordable) model to the KD signature KD 8 line. This model comes in a mid-top fashion as a breathable mesh upper sits on top of a phylon midsole. Nike/KD branding is spotted on the toe, rear portion of Kobe venomenon 5 the midsole and tongue. The new colorways have the shoe come in Game Royal, University Red, White, and Black. See anything you like? If so, they are all available now Curry 2.5 for $115.
Don’t look now, but the holiday season is fast approaching! Where in the world did 2016 go?! With that being said, a lot of anticipated releases usually come Kobe 7 out during the holiday season, today we got word that the Nike KD 9 will also be releasing several new colorways in the following months.News just broke that least three Kobe shoes new colorways are on the way. The first pair has the model come in adult sizes in a Triple Black colorway set to release on October 4th. The second pair, KD 9 also coming in adult sizes goes by the name of “On-Court”, which we assume will come in the same colorway as KD’s new NBA team. This pair will also be KD shoes
